A cursed plague is spreading across the land. Crops are rotting. People are dying in the streets. Sora, with the help of her magical Cat’s Eye necklace, is the only one who can stop it.

She must travel overseas to the Lost Isles, a place of legend and mystery. Only there can she destroy the bloodmage, Volcrian, putting an end to the curse. She is accompanied by Crash, a lethal assassin who once threatenedβ€”and savedβ€”her life. But Sora is beginning to question her dark companion. He seems to be carrying a secret; a hidden past that could endanger them all.

Meanwhile, they are hunted by an underground society known as the Shade. For centuries, the Shade has waited for the perfect opportunity to step into the light. Now they are perilously close to resurrecting a Dark God and unleashing a wave of unimaginable destruction. They only need to collect the three sacred weapons, and Sora has already found two….

    1. Oh my god, I love your books so freaking much! But this, this extract really is too much. There’s still four months to go – how can you do that to us? how can you taunt us like that? Seriously, what, no way, I just can’t, I- ok sorry I’m a little bit excited.
But really, your books are awesome and Sora and Crash are wonderful characters (the others are not bad either but Sora and Crash are definitely some of the best characters I have ever read about). However, you’re horribly cruel! (not that I hate it uh) They already almost drowned in the first book, and now that…
Wait, I thought Crash couldn’t swim?
Gaaaaaah, I hate these books so much! (and by that I mean, I love them to the point that I feel like slapping myself)
Anyway, I can’t wait for the third book to come out – I’m really looking forward to it. Please, please keep writing such wonderful books!
      Sincerely, a super excited reader.

      • Thank you so much, Dellis! I can really feel that “love hate” anticipation! πŸ˜‰ I’m sorry for being so cruel, but I’m sure Book 3 will more than make up for it. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts!

    2. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your first two books in the ‘cat’s eye’ series. As I suspected, a third is on the way, which led me to your website. Thank you for the excerpt from the third installment.

My only gripe is that I prefer not to read books in the first person or those that have more than one point of view. I get it sometimes, how this might build tension on the plot, but still, i was hoping for it to be one person’s point of view. The first book started with Crash’s, then it threw me on the next chapter going into Sora’s point of view. However, despite the flip-flopping, i still enjoyed the story line and look forward to the third book.

      • Hi Kat! Thanks for reading, even if multiple POV’s aren’t your thing. It’s actually quite a fun writing technique. In writing terminology, it’s called “third person omniscient” or, at times, “third person limited.” I tend to write in “third person limited,” meaning that even as we move through multiple POV’s, no one POV can cross over into the next. For instance, when writing Crash’s POV, he doesn’t know what Sora is thinking, and vice versa (thus “limited”).

I enjoy reading and writing first person, but I don’t like it when first person books jump POV’s, usually because the voice of the narrator never changes, so it sounds like the same character speaking throughout the book. Pet peeve!

Anyway, I rambled. Thanks for reading and I’m glad you’re trying out something new. πŸ™‚

    3. I love your books so far, and can’t wait to read more. How many books will be in this series? Because if there is much more I might just die from anticipation, to find out what happens next.

      • Hi Sky! There will be 5 books in the series and plenty of short stories to be released in the mix. We plan to release 1 book/year in the series and a few short stories about the main characters. Don’t die of anticipation, then you’ll never find out what happens! :p (I don’t think they have Kindles in Heaven….)

        Thanks for reading,

    4. I’m just curious if Volcrians Hunt will be available on kindle right away? I really hope so, I just moved and don’t really have a place for books so if I could get it on kindle I know I will always have it. πŸ™‚ These books are amazing!

      • Hi Sydnee! Yes, Volcrian’s Hunt will be available immediately on the Kindle. It should post on the Kindle store by tomorrow morning. Thanks for following the series!

    5. I love, love, love these books! I just started the series about 2 weeks ago and I’m starting Volcrian’s Hunt today. I will be patiently waiting on the next one. Okay, so maybe not patiently. πŸ™‚

    6. I LOVED this book. I’ve been waiting for 10 months to read and even though I read a lot there aren’t too many book I highly anticipate. You did such a good job, I mean WOW. I can’t get enough of the story, adventure and of course Sora and Crash (he’s in my top five “hero” category if not the first, we’ll see after series concludes). Please decide to have no life and write the next book soon πŸ™‚
I like how the story has developed and where the characters are, but it does worry me that we’re in a point in a 5-6 book series where some problems can arise in any kind of relationship. I must admit I do like it when Crash seems to be jealous!
Thanks so much for the series and a fun place for me to escape to.

      • Thank you Kori! Sora and Crash’s relationship is a fine dance, but things are about to heat up… and I agree about the jealousy. πŸ™‚ There will be plenty of action, adventure, tension and (most especially) romance in the books to come! I’m very excited to finally get Crash and Sora to this point. Endless possibilities… and don’t worry, I have no life to speak of and I am hard at work on the next book. Cheers!

    7. I don’t know how I am going to be able to wait until next summer for the next book in the series. I waited all summer for Volcrian’s Hunt! I love the series!
