Happy New Year! What’s NEW for The Cat’s Eye Chronicles?

Posted by on Jan 3, 2017 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Happy New Year! I’m excited about what the new year brings.

2017 will see the release of Krait’s Redemption (The Cat’s Eye Chronicles, Book 5). I know many readers are excited about the book’s release and have been waiting patiently for it to hit the shelf. Thank you for your patience! Why can’t I announce the release date yet? Well, there is a very specific reason, as explained in the next paragraph….

The Cat’s Eye Chronicles Audiobooks

Exciting news! I have just signed with Tantor to produce The Cat’s Eye Chronicles audiobooks. Tantor is an imprint of Recorded Books and one of the biggest audiobook producers in the world! Very exciting, yes? So in 2017, SORA’S QUEST, VIPER’S CREED, VOLCRIAN’S HUNT, FERRAN’S MAP, and KRAIT’S REDEMPTION will be released in audiobook format on Audible, iTunes and more! KRAIT’S REDEMPTION will be released as an ebook and audiobook at the same time. For that reason, I cannot announce a specific release date for KR until Tantor finishes production of the audiobook. I anticipate that to be around the middle of the year. I highly encourage you to follow The Cat’s Eye Chronicles for the release date announcement!

Ferran’s Map Release Date Moved

UPDATE 11.5.14

After some deliberation, my publishing team has agreed to allow me to split Ferran’s Map into two parts! What does this mean for you, dear reader? Ferran’s Map is still a complete book, but as the plot lengthens and becomes more complex, I have chosen to wrap it up and break this next leg of Sora’s adventure into two books. This means there will be six books in the series. We can now look forward to Book 5, Krait’s Redemption, being released early next year. I am ridiculously excited.

This also allows me to release Ferran’s Map much sooner than I had hoped, and definitely before Christmas. So look forward to it! I will announce the release date for Ferran’s Map as soon as the final edit it finished.

UPDATE 10.31.14

Before I begin, I want to say that the amazing reviews, comments and support left on this website are truly inspiring. Thank you so very much for becoming involved with The Cat’s Eye Chronicles and making it a success! Although my schedule does not allow me to respond personally to everyone, I do read your comments and I enjoy the conversations, and you’ve all left a huge smile on this writer’s face. 🙂 (<<--Bigger than that.) Ferran's Map is finished, has been finished, and is in its editing stages. I have admittedly been traveling a lot this past month and I am running behind on my deadlines. My editors are asking that I make a few more changes to the middle section of the manuscript, and after some debate, I've agreed that it's for the good of the story...but it does mean the release date will be pushed back for a second time. To give you an idea of the book, Ferran's Map is around 180,000 words...twice the length of Viper's Creed, and a solid 200 pages longer than Volcrian's Hunt. It is a hefty manuscript, and the editing is taking much longer than I anticipated...but you will all get a very good long read out of it! I plan for the book to come out before the end of the year which gives us...what, two months of wiggle room? Never fear, it will come out very soon, but I am hesitant to announce any sort of date until I know for sure the final draft is complete. I am just excited as all of you to release this next installment in the series. Please join my mailing list to be notified when the release date is finalized. You can also follow my facebook author account (on the right-hand column) to receive updates. I'm sorry for the wait...but the wait will be worth it. I anticipate Ferran's Map to be a very long, very intense, very fulfilling read for everyone. The next leg of Sora's journey is looking darker and more dangerous than her previous adventures, and Crash is definitely stealing my heart all over again. I almost wish I was a reader and not the author so I can take a back seat and just enjoy the ride. You all have a lot to look forward to! Stay cool guys! B) (Or rather, stay warm, as the seasons are turning....) -T. L. Shreffler

FREE Cat’s Eye Chronicles Wallpaper + Ferran’s Map Release Date Announcement

The Good, the bad, and…the good.

Release date changed!

Release date changed!

Hello everyone,

First, before we get to the good stuff, I have some bad news. I will need to push back the release date for Ferran’s Map probably to October. I am not sure of the new release date yet. My editing team is hard at work but looks like we’ll be making more major changes to the manuscript. All for the betterment of the story, of course. This next book in The Cat’s Eye Chronicles will need a bit more work before it hits its juicy, flavorful fruition. (Try saying that 5x fast haha.)

I strongly feel this next installment is going to be the best in the series. I am incredibly excited to release it–when it’s deliciously ready.

This change of release date might even be considered appropriate….if we account for the fact that Ferran’s Map takes place around the winter solstice festival…and now the release date will be a bit closer to winter (at least, in the Northern hemisphere.) A snowy read for the autumn season?

Writing a book is a lot like remodeling a house. You start of with a solid plan, and as you go, you run into complications, hazardous waste tucked behind walls or under floors, bad wiring, old plumbing….You get the gist. Sometimes a project takes longer than we originally expect.

The Good News! Free Cat’s Eye Chronicles Wallpaper, made just for you!

As a peace offering, I have taken a few hours out of my day to create a Crash and Sora wallpaper for all of you! Save it to your computer, share it on Pinterest, put it on your Facebook–whatever you want. I have three different sizes for different screen resolutions. Please download the wallpaper that fits your monitor. In the background you’ll see the City of Crowns and a glimpse of the Temple of the North Wind. Lots to look forward to in Ferran’s Map. 😉

The bloodmage Volcrian is dead, but a new enemy lurks in the shadows. The Shade, a fanatical cult of demonic assassins, is trying to resurrect the Dark God and unleash His power back into the world. In their wake, a deadly plague is spreading across the land.

Sora and her companions are the only ones who know of the plague’s true source. Sora must don the guise of a noblewoman and infiltrate the First Tier nobility to stop The Shade before it’s too late.

Meanwhile, the assassin Crash is confronted by a ghost from his past. As he uncovers more of the Shade’s plot, he finds himself face-to-face with his old Grandmaster, the one who trained him—and who he betrayed.
